Fort Verle - Vezzena
Trentino - Südtirol

Forte Verle - 7/3/2010 - 16:15

Fort Verle was built between 1907 and 1913 at the foot of Pizzo di Vezzena. It is perhaps the most well-known among these fortresses, because of Fritz Weber’s narration in his book of memories. Located at an altitude of 1504 mt, in a commanding position above Passo di Vezzena, the fort and the Basson entrenchments nearby were supposed to block up the road coming from Asiago.
