4500 students are enrolled at Gordon State College in Barnesville, Georgia. About 800 live on the campus, which includes 28 buildings on 125 acres. Barnesville is the county seat of Lamar County in Georgia. As of 2010, the population was 6,755. Buggy Days celebrates Barnesville's heritage as the Buggy Capital of the South during the late 1800's. More than 150 artists and crafts persons sell their handmade items on Main Street and buggies are on display outdoors and in the Old Jail Museum.
