One of the most intensely visited areas of the Grand Canyon National Park is the South Rim Trail. This trail runs for miles along the Rim, usually within a few feet of the cliffs and close to the drop off into the canyon. Part of this trail has been dedicated formally as the Trail of Time, with rock samples along the trail from every strata in the canyon. The canyon is over a mile deep at this location. The picture was taken during an early Spring snowstorm with winds blowing about 25 to 30 mph.
