Hi Woody!, Oviedo Woody Allen was awarded with the Príncipe de Asturias Award for Arts in 2002. He visited Oviedo to get the prize and fell in love with the town. In the Awards ceremony he stated that
'Oviedo is an exquisite, exotic, beautiful, clean, pleasant, quiet and pedestrian-friendly city...it is as if it did not belong to this world, as if it did not exist...Oviedo is like a fairy-tale city'.
So Oviedo loved with him twice as much as before and asked asturian artist Vicente Martínez-Santarúa to make a sculpture depicting Woody as he hangs around the city.
'Cassandra's Dream's world's private première -Allen's last film so far- took place in Avilés, near Oviedo, and he is now shooting his new film in Barcelona and Asturias.
