The Gilbert Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert, Arizona is a wetlands oasis in the hot Arizona Sonora Desert. Located just southeast of the Arizona capital city, Phoenix, this 110-acre park contains large treated waste water lakes that are home to a huge variety of birds and other wildlife. Although the Riparian Preserve in in the heart of a suburban neighborhood, it has the effect of a wild area.
