Approaching this col on the penultimate day of a 5 day trip through the Sierra Nevada, we were surprised to see a group of two backpackers standing on top. Having not seen a person on our approach through Deadman Canyon, it was delightful to see a father-son duo from Quebec, Canada. The father was a Sierra veteran, drawn by the remote beauty of places such as this. I hope to be able to carry my passion for these mountains to his age,.
