The new Isala Hospital building located in Zwolle was designed from both a highly dedicated medical-technical and health stimulating human perspective. The 108.000 square metres are spatially divided into 4 buildings called butterflies, due to their plan shape, with lush Atrium gardens. The Isala hospital was designed by the collaborating a/d amstel and Alberts & Van Huut architects offices (AMI Associated Dutch Healthcare Architects) and their design team partners.
This is where the patient corridor gives access to Butterfly 2, the outpatients departments at the lower floor, the inpatients wards at the higher floors.
