这尊白色塑像就是著名《红岩》小说中革命烈士江姐的原型——江竹筠烈士。
江姐（1920年~1949年），原名江竹筠，曾用名江志炜、江雪琴。1948年由于叛徒出卖，江姐不幸被捕。面对军统特务的严刑拷打，江姐始终坚贞不屈。1949年11月14日，在重庆即将解放的前夕，江姐被国民党特务秘密杀害于渣滓洞监狱，然后用盐酸毁尸灭迹，时年29岁。
