轿子雪山主峰高度为4223米，现在主要有两条线路可以登轿顶，大家熟悉的景区道路在禄劝一侧，已经建成了缆车、旅游栈道等，设施较为齐全，另一条登顶的路由东川炭房开始，在这一侧基本还没有进行旅游开发，全程徒步难度也不是非常大，适合喜爱户外的驴友自助，炭房附近的当地村民，非常纯朴和热情，这是由东川炭房登顶途中的大海牧场，这里的海拨3500米左右，这是一个很不错的户外营地，一般在每年五月以后，轿子雪山区域会开满高山杜鹃，每年花期时间会有所区别，今年五月底我们到达时，杜鹃已经有些败谢。
