The botanical garden in the 18th Century under Margrave Karl Friedrich (1746-1811) by Carl Christian Gmelin created. He received the residential builder Henry will look great in the years 1853 to 1857 new plant houses.
If he is not a botanical garden in the strictest scientific sense more - grew at times there over 40 000 different plants from almost all regions of the earth - it still comprises eight p.m. particularly noteworthy tree species from different continents. Fountains, sculptures, a cafe terrace in the frame structure of the former Winter Garden, and the small but absolutely worth seeing greenhouses with exotic rarities enrich the garden.
