Flight tests of the "Zenith" carrier rocket began in April 1985 and passed quite difficult - out of the thirteen first launches, three were accidental.

On October 4, 1990, during its 14th launch, there was a major accident. First stage failed at the 3rd second after the liftoff, the launch vehicle fell into the launch pad, exploded and completely destroyed the pad, remained out of service.
