Lele Section Permanent House
Taiwan

The Lele Section Permanent Houses are located near Baolai. They were built with aid from the Dharma Drum Mountain, for the settlement of Qinhe Tribe residents left homeless by Typhoon Morakot in 2009. Twenty families have already moved into the permanent houses.

Since all the residents are Bunun people, the architecture was based on Bunun culture.  There is a "Bunun Almanac” on the exterior wall of the community activity center. The newly built houses were modeled after traditional square-shaped Bunun slate houses with double oblique roofs. Each house has a balcony decorated with a Bunun weaving totem. A farm implements storage house has also been built.
