Matić poljana
Croatia

'Matić poljana' is a grassy plateau at Velika Kapela mountain range, stretching at altitude of 1030 m, about 300 m wide and about 3 km long. 26 limestone monoliths are in fact WWII monument, symbolizing the marching column that wade across plateau through the snowstorm, in a memory of 26 partisans who froze to death at this place on 24th February 1944.
