Medieval historical center of Guimerà.
Interesting as a whole. To lose yourself in an unhurried walk through the streets, portals and corners revive distant times. The stone houses, with their details and decorative elements of doors, windows and arcades, are enriching entertainment. The streets are narrow and the light that falls there draws shadows with strong contrasts.
It is characteristic of Guimerà, the variety of arches and cutlery that are found in the streets of the old part, and so are the porches near the Plaça Major that in the afternoon left the fairs and markets. This way of building using covered arches was motivated because the town is built on a high slope of the mountain, which determines that the streets are staggered. The most emblematic streets are Carrer Major, Carrer de la Cendra, Carrer de la Capella and Carrer de les Costetes.
