Mt. Mitosan (1527 m) in winter
Tama

Mt. Mitosan is located on the border of Tokyo and Yanamashi prefecture. The mountain was named from the fact that it has three summits, east, central and west. The three summits are located within 5 min. walk. To the summit of the mountain, we can relatively easily access from the parking lot of Hinohara Tomin village. Course time from Hinohara Tomin Village to the top of the mountain is about 90 min on foot. Snow falled several days before, so I use climbing spikes over my shoes. On the day, we could see very dim figure of Mt. Fuji.
