The Skye Museum of Island Life was opened in 1965 and consists of 6 cottages .

These are the Croft House Kitchen , Bedroom , Barn , Weaver's Cottage , Old Smithy and Ceilidh House .

Originally built in the mid 19th century , the cottages were restored to their original appearance to show the conditions that people of the time had to endure .
