My Taco Stand - People in Tequila, Jalisco 4760
Tequila
This was "my" taco stand during my stay in Tequila. I can say categorically that these are the best tacos in Tequila. It was my first and last meal in this town. The first meal, I had 7 tacos. My last meal, I ate eleven tacos. Yes, eleven tacos. Who knows when my last chance will be. No, I didn't feel so great after that meal - it was a bit too much. Sipping on a little bit of tequila afterwards did help, I will admit. Was there a danger of food poisoning? You might ask this question, especially if you are living in the so-called "developed world". The answer is no - not here! My rule has always been simply to pick the busiest food vendor in the street, and eat during peak hours. In that case the food is fresh. In this case, the carne asada used in my tacos was cooked literally seconds before I ate it. It sure was tasty. And at 5 pesos a taco,

More About Tequila

Tequila is a fantastic little town located about one hour northwest of Guadalajara. It is in many respects just what you might imagine a Mexican town to be - crumbling colonial church, arched arcades, dusty streets, plenty of cowboys, hot sunshine, and plenty of tequila to drink.
