Navarro River Redwoods State Park, California
California

Navarro River Redwoods State Park is located about 14 miles southeast of the northern California town of Mendocino. The park is unusual in that a highway runs down its length (CA-128). That does little to reduce the impact of these majestic trees, though, and a visitor need only step a short distance from the road to leave the modern world behind for a bit and be enveloped by the cathedral-like beauty of this towering forest. The panorama was taken in the Elizabeth Harris Taylor and John D. Taylor Grove. This is one of many memorial groves which honor major donors who have worked with the Save The Redwoods League to preserve and protect these vulnerable giants. You can find out more about their efforts at the following link: http://www.savetheredwoods.org .
