The Gigli of Nola
Naples

The Gigli (prounounced gee - yee) are wooden towers constructed and decorated by each of the suburbs of Nola. Of the course of 3 days, the each suburb carries thier Gigli to the main square. These towers are actually physically picked up and carried by 20-30 men using wooden poles and carried around the city.
