Old Wardour Castle, Wiltshire
England

Wardour Castle was built in the late 14th century as a fortified Manor House. Its irregular hexagonal shape is influenced by the design of French chateaux. It was extensively damaged by Parliamentarian forces who besieged the castle for several weeks in 1643.

Instead of repairing it, a new castle was built nearby. In more recent times, the old castle was used as a setting for the the film, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
