Minoan Palace of Malia
Greece

The Minoan Palace of Malia is located 3km east of Malia, adjacent to the wetland area near the sea. The archaeological evidence shows that the area inhabited since the Neolithic era. During the Minoan period, according to tradition, was used as a residence Sarpedon, brother of Minos, who had political and religious power was that king-priest.

Malia was inhabited since the Minoan era and have a long history that goes back centuries. It is the third largest palace of Minoan Crete. Located 3 km east of the town of Malia. The area now called the Palace Tarmaros and believed that the name is associated with the name of the ancient city.
