As I was examining satellite imagery near Hawthorne, Nevada, I had spotted this fantastic wreck & knew I had to locate it. Based on cached satellite imagery, the wreck occurred sometime b/w 2003 & 2006 as previous years do not show anything here. I had to use a bike to get to this location, following old mining roads that led me to this 1980s Jeep J10 pickup w/ a trailer cover, which somehow had been driven off the end of the old mining road above & had smashed into the gulch. Not sure how or why anyone would've pulled that off, unless it wasn't efficient anymore or was stolen. The J10 models, part of the Jeep Gladiator, were in production from 1974 to 1988. The wreck is only visible for a split second on a main mining road but is otherwise concealed from view. It seems only the cab now is filled w/ a large rat's nest.
