Panorama of the Pink Lake about 10 kilometres north-west of Dimboola on the Western Highway. The pink colour comes from a pigment secreted by algae which is more intense when there is water in the lake. During dry periods the salt lake appears more white due to the light reflected by salt crystals.

Victoria is located in the southeast of mainland Australia and includes the most southern point on mainland Australia at Wilsons Promontory National Park.
