Quinta do Barracão da Vilariça founded in 1850 as Malaposta of the royal road Lisbon - Bragança.
Its activity is the exploration of tourism activities in rural areas, agriculture, livestock in biological way and forestry, complete with hunting activity and repopulation cenegetic.
The QBV Rural Tourism activity is developed in the Vale da Vilariça, the second largest valley in Portugal, currently offering a total of 17 accommodation units with capacity for double occupancy, through TER typologies (rooms and house).
Unique place of encounter with the nature, the quinta is inserted in the heart of Terra Hot Transmontana, with strong integration in the region of Superior Douro.
The farm is located in a "frontier" zone between the Municipalities of Alfandega da Fé and Vila Flor, there are administrative areas belonging to the Municipality of Vila Flor and other affections to the Municipality of Alândega da Fé.
The Agrotourism unit developed in Quinta with capacity of 10 Units of accommodation, was complemented in 2006 with the creation of Houses with capacity of 7 Accommodation Units.
Throughout its activity it has invested heavily in agriculture and livestock, its agrotourism activity being combined with silvicultural activities such as olive growing, almond, extensive pastures and permanent irrigated meadows.
The herd (335 animals) of churras sheep from the "Hot Land Transmontana" feed exclusively on the lands of the Qtª of Barracão da Vilariça, all crops and livestock are exploited in organic production mode.
In the Quinta's aviary several mestizos are created in an extensive way for self-consumption.
As a whole the farm reaches 97.5ha, all irrigated (irrigation perimeter of the Vilariça valley), integrated in the extensive area surrounding the tourist hunting area of Vilariça with a floor area of over 1000ha.
Its hydraulic wheel mill and old oil press were recovered and are today living spaces full of memories.
The farmhouse of Barracão da Vilariça is a TER unit with equipment such as: playground, swimming pools, lounge with table football and snooker.
Farm products can also be purchased under the brand name Terra Sã (olive oil, terrine cheese, wines, composts, olive paste and others).
It also has a set of infrastructures, such as warehouse for the wine cellar, ovil, ecological aviary, hydraulic mill of rotation, among other elements.
