 Monastery of randa mallorca

The history of the monastery in randa  mallorca  (Santuari de Nostra Dona de Cura) goes back more then 700 years. The original monastery was built to train missionaries bound for Asia and Africa.

 The monesterio de cura   is situated 30 km  east of Palma and gives a fantastic view over the island. You will have a view over most of the little villages of mallorca In the North East you see the bay of Alcudia. and in the South West, the bay of Palma


It is possible to stay overnight in the monastery with prices ranging  from 15 to 20 Euro per person. the second night is  cheaper  The rooms are small apartments with cooking facilities. . They have a small terrace in front with a great view over Palma and the bay.Booking phone nr +34 971 660994  There is a cafeteria inside the garden of the monastery  The entrance to the monastery de cura is free. 

5 km from the monastery of randa, mallorca  you will find  the small village of Randa. Many of the big names in the history of Mallorca, are connected to Randa.  One of Mallorca's most famous sons, Ramón Llull (1232-1315) was a nobleman, turned religious scholar who wrote many important works and travelled the world.
Ramón Llull wrote some of his most famous books here..

It is possible to walk to the monastery  It will take you about an hour Ask the locals for the many shortcuts leading to the monastery de cura
on the way to the top are other monasteries including the Senyora de Gràcia, the Santuari de Sant Honorat and the Santuari de Nostra Senyora de Cura.
