Rock "Upper Head" (Verkhnia Golova)

Rock "Upper Head" (Verkhnia Golova) is the northernmost part of the Khortitsa island. To the South it adjoins the "Sich Gate", and the "Black Rock" to the East.

Rocks of Khortitsa island are among the most ancient in the neighborhood. Their age about 2.8 billion years. 3 million years ago, the Dnieper river paved its way through the rocks, so created the island Khortitsa.
