Roman Theater, Ferento, Italy
Lazio

A well preserved theater from the 1st century AD in the Roman town of Ferento, Italy (which was inhabited until the 12th century AD, when it was sacked by nearby Viterbo). Statues from the theater are in museums in Florence, and other artifacts are in the Civic museum in Viterbo. [ Previously open only on Saturdays, as of 2011 the site is closed and fenced due to a lack of funds for staffing and restoration. ]
