Pogled sa terase na Sokobanju i Rtanj

Sokobanja is located in East Serbia, 234 km southwest from Belgrade on the slopes of Mount Ozren (1,074 m).

Therapeutic powers of thermal springs in Sokobanja were known as far back as the time of Romans. The first official record of Sokobanja dates back to the rule of Stefan Nemanja (XV century). Today it is one of the most popular spas and it boasts the title of the first ecological municipality in Serbia.

Getting there:
* by road, exiting from international highway E-5 Belgrade-Niš-Athens at Aleksinac
* by railway – Aleksinac station on Belgrade–Niš–Athens railway.

There are several natural springs in the vicinity. Water for the resort itself is supplied from the natural spring the flow rate of which is 17 litres/second even at times of scorching droughts. Walking up the hiking path no more than several hundred meters will lead you to the most significant cultural and historical monument - Soko grad (Falcon Fort). Built during Justinian’s rule (I-IV century) chiefly as defense against the Avars, it served in medieval Serbia as defense against the Turks until 1413 when it was completely destroyed.

Located on a camp site and intersection of hiking paths, NBS holiday resort “Lepterija” is 1,500 m far from the centre of Sokobanja. Apartmani u Sokobanji are located all over the city

The height of 600 m above sea-level, the soothing effect of moderate continental climate, pleasant atmosphere pressure and air currents permeated with sweet ozone scent make this place the right choice for spending your holidays.
