Ruined castle of Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina 01
Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the year 1396 the duke of Bosnia, Vukčić Hrvatinić, had built a fortress at the mouth of the Pliva in the Vrbas. He called them Jajce and founded also the city of Jajce. In the 15th century, Jajce was even a royal residence. Jajce can be considered as the first capital of Bosnia.
