Ruins of the Tudor manor house at Moreton Corbet Castle
England

The present day ruins of Moreton Corbet Castle are dominated by the shell of an Elizabethan manor house. The original castle was built in the late 11th century, soon after the Norman Conquest. It was acquired by the Corbet family during the 13th century and subsequently added to over the following centuries.

The Tudor house is modelled on the Flemish style and dates from 1580. Although damaged during the English Civil War, it was repaired and remained a residence until the 18th century. Today, the property remains in the ownership of the Corbet family but is managed by English Heritage.
