The park of Pavlovsk is part of the royal suburban residence which covers an area of more than 600 hectares (1,500 acres), making it one of the largest landscape parks in Europe. It was laid out in the 1780s to a design by Charles Cameron. In the 1790s, architect Brenna added some geometrically planned sections to the park. Some big "landscape" sections were then added by a group of architects such as Pietro Gonzaga, Voronikhin, Quarenghi and Rossi.
