Saint Petersburg city. Bolsheokhtinsky Bridge
The bridge was build in 1909 and named after the Russian monarch Piter the Great, after 1917 it had been renamed as Bolsheokhtensky Bridge, because placed at the mouth of Okhta river. The bridge features only three spans, the central one can be drawn. This photo taken at the mouth of Okhta river, the place of XVII cent. sweden fortress Nyenschantz is across the road after the adv. banner. At this land planned to build a 403-meter high tower for business and social needs, but this intention met the oposition from citisens. In 2014 this area is still unused.
