北投行天宮原規劃為一殿式，玄空師父認為聖廟格局理應開闊舒展，所以於民國四十九年後殿落成之後，繼續挹注大部分資金建設玉皇殿及前殿，而於民國五十四年農曆五月一日舉行慶成儀式，展現出三殿式的大廟格局。

行天宮傳承三教聖賢義理，融合了儒家的倫理、道教的科儀和佛教的慈悲，圓滿了民間廣大信眾的宗教需求。並致力於宣講「問心敬神」的正信理念，以期革除迷信，挽回世道人心於正軌。
