Skarnu (Butchers’) Street in Old Riga, Latvia
Riga

Skarnu (Butchers’) Street is one of the most beautiful streets in the old town – St. Peter’s (Petera) Church, St. George’s (Jura) Church (previously a part of the first Order’s Castle, the oldest stone building in Old Riga), the complex of John’s (Jana) Church with the remains of medieval houses and the Dominican Order monastery, and Konventa Seta are all located here.

More About Riga

Originated from a small fishermen village, for centuries Riga has been an important part of the trade chain between Russia and Western Europe. A lively crossroad of cultures and backgrounds for over 800 years, the historical centre of Riga has accumulated an impressive cultural baggage and today is justly included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage list.
