St Clement's Church, Rodel, Harris
Scotland

St Clement’s Church was founded in the early 1500s and has been touted as ‘the grandest medieval building in the Western Isles’.

It was built by Alasdair ‘Crotach’ MacLeod of Dunvegan and Harris, 8th Chief of MacLeod and was intended as as a burial place for the MacLeod Clan. His elaborately decorated tomb and those of his successors are located inside the church.
