Featuring Italian mosaics, marble, paintings, stone carvings and ornate sometimes gilded woodwork, the State Capital of Iowa is only exceeded in ornateness by the exteriors' domes covered in gold leaf. The governor and Lt. governor as well as the House and Senate meet here along with some cabinet office holders.
