Church St.Nikolaus, Große Hesepe

The significant measure was the new Gothic arch. The rich, contemporary fresco painting in the eastern arch indicates the origin back to 1500. As part of the expansion and transformation of the late Gothic church, the choir was built, which later went through a ceiling ceiling lost its original spatial effect.

In the tower of the church there is a broader color sandstone figure of St Nicholas Cathedral of St. John Kroes (1600). The singular structure of the Emsland pulpit has been inspired by J. Schagemann from Meppen 1805 / 8 from the pulpit of St. Aegidiichurch at Münster (J.C. Schlaun).

Emsland is the name of a region on the river Ems in the western Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia in the north and east of the Netherlands. It is divided into the so-called Emsland Hanover and Westphalia.Since then, a district in Lower Saxony, was founded with that name, are often referred to as a term landscape and community in one breath and confused.
