We took off the road for a short break. This place is close to the exacavation sites of the ancient Thracian city Ratiaria which had been founded in the 4th century B.C. Decades later the ancient city had been conqured and further developed by the Romans. Ratiaria is located near the village of Archar in Vidin Province. It stands approximately 25 kilometers from Vidin to the West and 28 km from Lom to the East. I really like the abundance of the fishermen boats along the Danube.
