A rough bumpy road, the Swasey Leap trail heads out from the Buckhorn Wash trail to a place on the San Rafael river where the river gorge is very narrow. Legend has it that one of the Swasey brothers leapt from one side to the other on his horse. This is classic Hollywood western desert scenery.
