The Ice Age landscape at Glen Roy, Lochaber
Scotland

With its wide range of geological features the landscape at Glen Roy, near Fort William, provides clear evidence of Scotland's glacial past.

The so-called 'parallel lines' etched into the far hillside were once the shorelines of an ice-dammed ancient lake around 12,000 years ago. They were left behind as the glacier retreated during the last Ice Age.
