From 23 August 1913 the statue of the Little Mermaid, cast in bronze by Danish sculptor Edvard Eriksen is admired daily by a myriad of tourists.
Situated on a rock at the entrance of the harbor of Copenhagen, shows the character of the famous fairy tale written in 1837 by Hans Christian Andersen; the sculptor has taken as a model for the face the dancer Ellen Price, who played the ballet staged at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen in 1909 and for the body's own wife, as the dancer was not willing to pose nude.
Trip organized by the Committee of Verciano August 10 to 18 in 2014.
