The silos of Burjassot

We are at the Burjassot town, 6km. away from Valencia city, on this special square named "Los Silos". At this place were built from 1573 to 1806 forty three big silos, in order to store wheat for Valencia city.

Those times, Valencia lacks of this kind of grain and it needed to import it, but corsairs and weather made the necessity of store it for longs periods of time in a fresh place.

Inside the panorama now we can see along the square only the stone caps to seal the silos (with his rings to chains up them). Today are out of service and the square is a place for cultural events at this town.

This panorama has been made for "Necessity" event of the World Wide Panorama.
