Topsham is a small town located on the outskirts of Exeter and is steeped in history dating back as far as Roman times.
It is no longer a working port, its river traffic now almost exclusively leisure craft. There are endless relics of its wealthy past, not least the Dutch gables on the front of many properties, indicating the importance that this area once played in international trading.
The slipway on Ferry Road is a favourite for feeding the ducks or just watching the tide glide slowly in and out.
