Tychy - The Little Bears' Park (Park Niedzwiadkow)

This is a park between the estates B,C and E. Its landmark is a sculpture group sculpted by Augustyn Dyrda. In 1960 he was comissioned to sculpt a little bear as a decoration in the Estate B. So he made three sculptures of bears in different poses to choose from. But Marian Łatak, the director of the company buildung the city, liked all three bears and ultimately a group of those three sculptures was set in the park which was established at that time, not in the Estate B.

These little bears quickly became popular with inhabitants of the city, especially with children. Today they are one of the icons of Tychy.
