Tynemouth
England

Marking the entrance to the River Tyne, impressive views of the North Pier at Tynemouth, the South Pier at South Shields and Tynemouth Priory and Castle.

Also visible are the notorious bank of rocks called the Black Middens. Covered at high tide, the Middens caused the death by drowning of hundreds of sailors and their passengers. Most poignantly, they all died within a ropes length of the safety of the shore.
