Šuštarski most or Čevljarski most (i.e. shoemaker's bridge) spans 27 meters over the river Ljubljanica, which flows through Slovenian capital Ljubljana. On one side is the Jurčičev trg (Jurčič square), on the other are Mestni and Stari trg (Town and Old squares). On the same side, the Ljubljana's castle is visible on the top of the hill. The bridge was designed by the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik and constructed in 1931 and 1932. The previous bridge (wooden), which burned down before the present one was built, had shoemakers workshops on it, hence the today's name. Nowadays the bridge is often occupied by the artist's workshops and the flea market nearby (weekends, summer). At current occasion, the banks of the river are beautifully decorated with Christmas lights.
