Founded in 1890, the Chickamauga Battlefield is the oldest and largest military park in the United States and contains 5300 well-preserved acres. It was founded in 1890 and consists of 5300 well-preserved acres. The 1863 Battle of Chickamauga was the second largest engagement of the U.S. Civil War.
