The historical Water Tower was built from 1886 to 1889 at the Friedrichsplatz. Its height is 60 meter, its diameter is 19 meter. It was built after plans of the architect Gustav Halmhuber. Mannheim is the third largest city of Baden-Württemberg. In 1720 the capital of the Electorate of the Palatinate was moved to Mannheim. In this time Karl III Philipp, Elector Palatine began the construction of the Mannheim Palace and the Jesuits church. Mannheim is an important industrial city in Germany.
