LBNM: south entrance
California

Gloomy wet morning view at the south entrance to Lava Beds National Monument near Tulelake, California.  A late May snow storm passed through during the night as I car-camped at this pullout & awoke to this view.  There are five road entrances to the park plus several forest service roads that end at the park boundary.  There are two main entrances (this being the main south entrance), an entrance at the north end at Hill Road, another dirt road entrance coming in from Medicine Lake, & a rutted 4wd road that comes from the west near Fleener Chimneys.
