Gigapixel view from the summit of Wildcat Peak (elev. 7,897') in the Russian Wilderness area west of Callahan, California. The peak is on a ridge connected to the slightly higher Grizzly Peak & near to the highest point in the region, Russian Peak. The area is heavily adorned with granite, though being more forested than the Trinity Alps to the south. Views of the Marble, Scott, & Salmon Mountains, distant views of Mt. Shasta, Lassen Peak, Mt. Eddy, The Eddys, Trinity Alps, & more to the south. It was very calm & perfect conditions for being early November as I traversed the granite boulders to go up nearby Grizzly Peak.
